Marina Safety ConcernsEmergency phone numbers are located at the pay phone, next to the rest rooms, as well as being posted on the office door. Police, fire or ambulance DIAL 911, and give the address - as Mears Marina, 519 Chester Avenue, Annapolis, MD.
Fire Extinguishers: Each dock is equipped with one large 150 lb. fire extinguisher. Additionally, there are numerous small 10 lb. units located on the docks and throughout the Marina. Take the time to learn how to use them, as well as the ones on your boat! Any questions? Ask at the office.
Man overboard ladders are located throughout the Marina and are painted yellow and marked with red flags. Please be sure you and your guests are aware of their locations.
Open Fires are not permitted in the Marina, onboard boats, on the docks or in the pavilion, with the exception of the grills in the designated picnic areas.
Seamanship: It is assumed that all slipholders will have had at least some training in proper seamanship and nautical etiquette. The Marina reserves the right to make any adjustments it deems necessary to insure the safety of a boat, its occupants or surrounding boats (see contract).
Marina Facilities, Privileges & Regulations
Coffee hour is held each Saturday and Sunday morning at 8:30 AM beginning with the first outdoor club event in the spring, and continuing through the last outdoor fall event. Complimentary coffee, donuts, bagels and cream cheese are provided by the Marina and it is expected that all who participate will do so in a mannerly fashion (discretion on seconds, please, until all have had an opportunity to partake). Please bring your own coffee mug.
Courtesy: Slipholders are expected to keep their conversations inside or down below after 10 p.m. Sound travels extremely well on still summer evenings. Loud and boisterous neighbors are our most often heard complaint - Please be sure you're not one of them!
Dinghy Dock: We have a floating dock located on the bulkhead by the shower building for launching of your dinghies. Please do not leave unattended dinghies tied to or on the floating dock.
Dinghy Rack: Located behind the Marina Office and by Hartges building. All spaces are reserved; please stop by the Marina Office for an assignment. Non-registered dinghies will be removed. A two wheel trolley for moving dinghies is available.
Docks: Fishing, crabbing, running, bicycling, teak cleaning and varnishing, as well as dock boxes, are all strictly prohibited on the docks. A workbench, located under the SRYC Clubhouse, may be used for light carpentry, staining, sanding, etc. Carpeting or mats are not permitted on the docks or finger piers.
Dock Carts are available adjacent to the Marina Office. Stop in the office if you would like assistance loading or unloading. Please return dock carts to their designated parking area so that they will be available for other slipholders to use. Please be careful to not spill any dangerous or unpleasant materials in the dock carts.
Dogs and other pets are welcome, but must be kept on a leash while on the Marina property. Owners must pick up after their pets. Please do not walk dogs on the grassy areas where people may be picnicking or folding sails in the area between C & D docks and between A & B docks. Dogs can be walked in the grassy areas adjacent to the parking lot. Dogs are not permitted in any of the buildings, the pavilion or tied on the docks.

Anyone wishing to increase the amount of electricity at a specific slip may do so at his or her own cost and only with the permission of the Marina. Office Notification Policy When Leaving Slip: The Owner agrees to notify the office if the boat is to be away overnight and to estimate its expected return (see contract). When you will be away from your slip for any extended period of time, it is advisable to leave a float plan with the office so you can be contacted in the event of an emergency.

This will allow us to accommodate up to 30 guest cars. Please check with the Marina Office for guest passes and double parking instructions. They are in effect from sunrise on Friday to sunset on Sunday beginning with the first Yacht Club activity in the spring and ending with the last Yacht Club activity in the fall. See SRYC calendar.

Restrooms: We strive to keep our restrooms neat and clean. Your help is always appreciated. The Marina's primary restrooms are located at the end of the Marina Office building. We also have additional facilities located in the S.R.Y.C Clubhouse. Our Swim & Tennis clubhouse also has one men's and one women's restroom complete with showers.
Sail/Equipment repair: Our office will be glad to hold any items you may wish to have picked up for repair. It is the Owner's responsibility to contact the repair company in a timely fashion and pick up repaired equipment in a timely fashion.
Showers: The shower building is located next to the Marina Office building at the head of C dock adjacent to the laundry room. There are 7 private showers with dressing areas. Please avoid lengthy showers in order that all slipholders may enjoy the pleasure of hot water. The combination is 5-1-2 (turn knob to the right).
